Port School is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Australian Institute of Management Corporate Social Awards for its long standing international Malaysia Leadership excursion.
The Hawaiian Corporate Social Impact Excellence Awards recognise organisations that have achieved outstanding results through key initiatives that demonstrate leadership and commitment to excellence in corporate social impact.
In order to be considered for this prestigious Award, projects must demonstrate the following:
- A direct, positive impact on a minority or disadvantaged group in the community.
- Support of the not-for-profit sector via community events and/or fundraising.
- Cross-sector partnerships benefitting all stakeholders.
- Leadership excellence in corporate social impact.
- Business leadership for the industry in which the organisation is active.
“The international Malaysia excursion is one of education, culture, leadership, and community. It supports those less fortunate as well as offering a cultural exchange and lots of fun for our students.
The School is delighted to be recognised by AIM WA and shortlisted as a finalist for this Award. This recognises the hard work put in by all staff, students, friends and families of the Port School community, including Apex Klang in Malaysia and Apex Australia. All of their support has enabled us to organise the multitude of fundraising events over the years including sausage sizzles and the Port School annual Art Exhibition and Trivia Night. Funds raised from sales of beautifully crafted items from the Port School Workshop and fundraising head shaves, along with the generosity of our private and philanthropic donors have contributed to making this all possible.”

The 2025 team recently returned from Malaysia having donated 50,000 Malaysian Ringitt ($18,200) to Klang Special School. These funds will go towards supporting educational places for orphaned students. In addition this year, the project also donated over 60 food hampers, toys, games, music equipment, books and sporting equipment to a local Orang Asli village in Slim River.
Our sincere thanks also go to ‘Eco Pay It Forward’ and ‘Clothing Please‘ for transporting these items to Malaysia free of charge in their shipping container. A final thank you goes to all our friends at Klang Apex Club who offer so much support to staff and students when in Malaysia.
