Deputy Principal Mike Gilbert and Young Parent Centre Manager Michelle Forsyth will be heading to the ACT later in June to represent Port School at the 2026 Young Pregnant and Parenting Symposium in Canberra. Mike will be running a workshop session talking about Port’s Young Parent and Early Learning Centre; how the centres were set up, the benefits of strategic partnerships and key stakeholder relationships and the highs, lows and challenges along the way. The workshop will also include some words from some of our amazing young mums and will reflect on the 10-year journey that has assisted over 120 young parents.
This national event brings together leaders, researchers, educators, and practitioners to explore how we can better support young parents and their children to succeed in safe and healthy families.
