Malaysia 2015

Klang Special School visits Western Australia
Sunday 15th March – Saturday 21st March 2015

Well, what an amazing week. Port School excelled by hosting 10 staff, students and Apexians from Klang Special School in Malaysia to a week of fun-packed activities in Perth. Our team of Port students acted as hosts and guides for the week.

The trip came about following Port students visiting their school in Malaysia over the last three years and developing a great relationship. Port has donated over $15,000 over that time which has assisted in the purchase of laptops, kitchen and garden equipment and the sponsoring of orphans to attend the school there.

Port School visits Malaysia
Monday 14th September – Thursday 24th September 2015

Term 2 of 2015 saw Port staff and students start planning the third Malaysia excursion. Previous years had been a great success with many memories and many new Malaysian friends and contacts made. With any international excursion it is always hard to improve things, but there were obvious lessons learned and areas that of course could be improved on.

Planning for staff and students alike was still hectic but seemed somewhat easier having had experience and knowledge of the areas being visited from the previous years. New younger members of the Klang Apex Club, who were allocated to assist with planning, proved invaluable and were instrumental in providing an amazing program and schedule. It was to be a program that proved to be an amazing experience for all of our students.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
